In an instant - everything changed
In an instant—everything changed.
I was at my desk in my home office, talking to my friend/mentor, when it dawned on me. This wasn’t an option, it was a calling/a creative urge like no other. An unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body that I had to share my passion for bringing this unique group of speakers together with the world. I had no idea, in that moment, how it would change my relationships forever. Or even more shockingly, just how much it would change me.
I had no idea what it was like to create a container with individuals who each have a defined motorized throat, and whose voices create worlds with their words, who’s energy spoke the same language as mine.
I had no idea what it was like to share so vulnerably with a group of individuals and be fully seen for who I am - I am talking “seen” , witnessed without judgement or opinion, but seen and witnessed with truth, love, and capacity.
I had no idea what it was like to co-create with a group of individuals whose stories and lives created ripples in the spaces they occupy. Ripples that impact and influence others in ways no one understands. I became part of those ripples.
I had no idea just how beautifully they would each hold space for me as this creative urge flowed through my system and consumed my every thought and word - and how they opened and accepted the calling to join me on this wild and uncertain ride of a lifetime. Even through my crazy Zoom calls and multiple WhatsApp texts, and the spreadsheets created by my overzealous Perspective in Possibility.
In an instant - everything changed. I changed.
I grew in my understanding of what is means to collaborate with like minded souls - Manifestors - and how to create something that shakes foundations and truth.
I grew in my leadership (gate 31.4) and in my Life’s Work sphere , which lies in the same gate. I opened to the understanding of what leadership looks like for me, to stand in the power of my self as a leader - to release all that was taught to me before about traditional leading - to step into natural leadership through the alchemy of self from this experience.
I grew in the knowledge that I am not alone - and that I don’t have to create in a vacuum - that there are others out in this big world that truly understand me even within moments of meeting me - who speak the same energetic language of our hearts.
Throughout this experience, I have been following the quote by Abraham Maslow that says, "One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth”, with the intent to keep moving forward no matter how small the step. But as I was writing this a few more Maslow quotes came across my path. I hope they help you shale the foundations of where you are in your life and open to the possibilities that life can change with you at the helm, you can right the boat at anytime it feels untethered, you can reveal the unspoken truths and and dare to be bold enough to no longer allow those to be hidden from the world - to create an instant where everything can change.
Here’s the full quote: "One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again."
And some more:
"If the only tool you have is a hammer, it is tempting to treat everything as if it were a nail." This quote, often referred to as the "law of the instrument," suggests that our perspective is limited by the tools we have available to us. Sometimes we need new tools.
And one more:
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." This quote encourages embracing life with courage and a willingness to take risks.
